7-12 Grade Art Appreciation A: Required and Optional Assignments: Major Project Example: Create a work of art that has personal meaning to you using the medium of your choice such as collage, painting, digital production (Photoshop, Illustrator, Paint, Draw, etch.) photography, a developed drawing, or using a variety of any materials and create a mixed media piece. Your image must be 5"x 7" or larger; keep in mind that the smaller the piece, the more detail you should use. This must be a developed piece of work that is conceptually and formally thought out, anything less will not be acceptable. After you create your work of art, then you must label all the Elements and Principles that are contained in your work. You may permanently adhere your labels, write directly onto, or use a less permanent method such as envelope labels, stickers that accept writing, or any other method that could be removed after display. You can also insert your labels digitally after uploading the image to your computer. Types of Course Assessments: Grades will be comprised of discussion board postings, written responses, essays, quizzes, exams, art activities, and project grades. Sketchbook Assignments which are manually executed and digitally documented will accompany most sections and will be offered as a bonus activity to supplement and enhance the online experience and student grade point average.
